Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Start feeling like yourself again
This isn’t your grandmother’s hormone replacement therapy
We’ve learned a lot about hormone replacement therapy over the last decade – and it’s shifting everything we once accepted as a “normal part of being a woman.”
Today, The North American Menopause Society, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and The Endocrine Society all agree that hormone therapy can play an important role in managing peri-menopausal and post-menopausal symptoms.
If you’re struggling with symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, mood swings, and more, hormone therapy may be able to help you fight back and reclaim your right to feel normal again.
“I think this is something that you can’t put a price tag on, especially as you get to my age, as your mental clarity and energy and all of the ways that having balanced hormones helps maintain your normal levels of everything. Just having that extra boost of things – it’s a night and day difference.”
“My life is not over. Everyone at AVIVA recognizes that what we’re striving for is to maintain the high quality of life that we have in our 30s when our hormones are at their prime.”
“I went into chemo-induced menopause at a young age. I struggled with the side effects and didn’t do well with topical hormone replacement or even finding a doctor that wanted to deal with it. Then, I heard about BHRT pellets and someone recommended AVIVA. I only wish I’d gone sooner! It was life changing!”

Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy FAQs
How do I know if I need bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?
How do I get started with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy?
When you take our Hormone Balance Quiz, our team will review your answers and give you a personalized assessment of how bio-identical hormones may/may not help you. You can also start by researching the different methods of bio-identical hormone therapy. Creams, patches, synthetic injections, prescription pills, and hormone pellets all work differently and can have different results. At AVIVA WO/MAN, we like using bio-identical hormone pellets. You can read about that here.
How do I find a provider for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?
Read online reviews. Ask your primary doctor for a referral. Ask for a preliminary consultation. See if you can ask basic questions over the phone.
Remember, you can always find a new provider if the one you are seeing doesn’t ‘feel right’ with you.
The key to success is finding a provider you can establish a long-term relationship with. As you age, and as life changes, your provider will stay in tune with changes in your body and make adjustments along the way and as needed.
How much does bioidentical hormone replacement therapy cost?

I'm not even sure this is the right thing for me. What questions should I ask?
Here are 9 questions that we recommend you ask any potential provider:
- Can you help with hormone optimization?
- What method of bio-identical hormone therapy do you use?
- How much does the program cost?
- What labs are needed to get started?
- Are there any restrictions?
- How do I know if I am a candidate?
- What are the side effects?
- How long will I be using these for?
- What changes in my life do I need to make to ensure a greater chance of success?
My labs came back as "normal." Now what?
First, “normal” results don’t mean that you are crazy or making up the fact that you aren’t feeling yourself.
Lab results in the normal range only mean that, on average, most individuals in your age range have a similar level of the reading on the test.
Bio-identical hormone therapy is looking for OPTIMAL over normal. A provider who aims to achieve optimal results will be looking for optimal hormone levels as well as, optimal thyroid function, supplements and dietary suggestions. Each of these components work together to help treat the whole individual.
What lab panels do you order?
We will also check a thyroid panel to include a TSH, T4 total, T3 Free, and TPO.
Additionally, for women, we will order the estradiol, testosterone total, and FSH.
For men, we will order the estradiol, testosterone free & total, and a PSA for men ages between 55-69.
How long will my lab results take to come in?
What can I expect once my labs have been received?
You will learn about what your present baseline is, areas that can be improved, and receive suggestions on a hormone therapy program, thyroid support, and supplements and dietary options all geared toward optimal health and wellbeing specific to your body and needs.
If you would like to proceed with therapy suggestions, we are happy to proceed with the recommended treatment or help you connect with another provider who can help you implement a plan that works best for you.
Should I tip my aesthetician or medical practitioner?
Do you accept insurance or HSAs?
However, we do accept HSA and FSA Cards for covered health services (mostly services that aren’t cosmetic but check with your plan first!)
What payment methods do you accept?
