What is Intimate health + Wellness?
Our "Sanctuary-like Clinic for Intimate Health, Preventative Care and Age Management" offers women a safe-space to discuss their mental, emotional and physical intimacy issues resulting from vaginal dryness, laxity, bladder incontinence (leakage), lack of sensitivity, orgasmic dysfunction, atrophy or overall aesthetic appearance. We help heal these issues through a 30-minute, non-surgical, non-ablative vaginal rejuvenation procedure that produces immediate results, no pain and no downtime.
Before now, costly, invasive surgical procedures were the only options available to address all our intimate health needs. We have selected ThermiVa® as our method of treatment as it is a non-surgical - and pain-free - with amazing results that you will feel and see right away. As opposed to laser-based technologies, ThermiVa® is non-ablative, requiring no numbing agent, and allows you to resume normal (sexual as well) activities the very same day.
It is a series of three procedures, performed 4 weeks apart, that restores youth to our most intimate area of the body. The treatment uses a radio frequency technology to gently heat tissue to generate immediate skin tightening and long-term collagen production which stimulates restoration of the nerves and glands for increased lubrication and sensitivity. The treatment is delivered via an ergonomically designed (with women's anatomy in mind), temperature controlled hand piece - that is only the width of your pinky finger - to ensure consistent results and a comfortable experience.
It can also be used for facial skin tightening and wrinkle reduction (ThermiSmooth®) which we offer at Aviva Woman as well!
See the reviews on Real Self. It sounds too good to be true but it really is changing the lives of many women and their partners. We can wait to help you change yours.
Why should I choose Radio Frequency over Laser Technologies?
Both Radio Frequency and Laser technologies are going to help with tightening the muscles and improve sexual sensitivity, improve mild to moderate bladder incontinence and the appointment duration is about the same. Both suggest a series of 3 treatments over 12 weeks and yearly maintenance. The end results are the same, however, the Radio Frequency technology, which we have chosen for Aviva Woman, is non-ablative. When treating the labia minora and majora with a laser, a numbing agent is required. After a laser treatment, one must wait 5-7 days before resuming normal activity. Think, no tampons, no intimate relations, and sweat pants for the next several days. Laser destroys the tissues to reach the layers that will stimulate tissue production. Radio frequency, on the other hand, uses heat waves to penetrate without destroying the outer tissues. No numbing agents are required for interior or exterior treatment. Zero pain and zero downtime. You will see noticeable and lasting results the same day and are even encouraged to resume normal sexual relations as soon as you like. The benefits continue to progress over the next several weeks as new and healthy tissue growth occurs.
Who is this treament right for?
These services can help women of all ages at all stages of their lives. It can address issues of women in their early childbearing years and post-menopausal women with similar issues later in life. It is also a great alternative for cancer survivors that are dealing with any of these issues when hormonal treatments are not an option. We encourage you to schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your intimate wellness concerns and we can help determine if this treatment is right for you.
How much downtime should I expect?
There is absolutely no down time. You can resume all normal activities the very same day.
How many treatments will I need?
Our protocol is a series of three treatments performed once a month for three months, though you should see results immediately following the first treatment. We will also advise that you come back in about 12 months for a yearly maintenance application.
How long will the procedure take?
It is a 30-minute procedure. We will book you for an hour-long appointment to ensure total relaxation and a spa-like experience before, during and after your treatment.
Will I experience any pain during the treatment?
None at all! Most women find this treatment to be a surprisingly comfortable experience and equate the sensation to a hot stone massage.
What if I am pregnant?
We do not advise this treatment for women who are currently pregnant. However, this treatment is great for the post-partum healing so we encourage you to come see us once you are cleared by your doctor.
Who will be in the room during my treatment?
You can plan on our Medical Director, who will perform the treatment, in the room with you. It is totally up to you if you would like an additional person in the room with you.
What do I need to do to prepare for my consultation?
There is no prep work required but certain times of the month are better. If you are in the middle of your menstrual cycle we are happy to reschedule your appointment in a few days. We also require that you have had a healthy pap smear within the last two years.
What do I need to do to prepare for my treatment?
We ask that you remove all hair from the treatment area. If waxing or laser, please do so 5-7 days prior. to avoid any additional irritation. If shaving please allow at least 1 day prior. We also recommend that you increase hydration the day before your treatment.
